WATER SAFETY

Water Safety Intro

We are fortunate in our area that we have a number of beautiful locations that are easily accessed for families and children. However, a lot of these are by the water, whether it be our local rivers or the number of quarries, lakes and ponds. The Police and Fire & Rescue Service know only too well the dangers some of these can pose.

Water Safety Education is an important part of a young person’s development. Whilst a large number of children have access to swimming provision across the UK many still do not and we would argue that even those children would benefit from reinforcing practical swimming and water safety with fun and engaging school-based water safety sessions.

The Royal Life Saving Society UK have created a range of education materials catered to differing environments and have developed a range of resources to assist in class based studies.
